In a large skillet, cook chopped onion in olive oil until tender, then add basil and garlic. Place loose sausage in large stock pot, breaking up sausage into small pieces, cover with broth and water to desired level Add remaining ingredients, cover pot and bring to a boil. Turn off burner and allow to sit for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Enjoy!
I had this soup at the Christmas on Main street this winter. I cant rave enough about this soup. The ingredients are perfect together. The people at the Sausage Kitchen are very welcoming and pleasant.
